There does seem to be some interest in digital layout templates for those that scrapbook in the 11 X 8.5 inch landscape format. I use a Mac and print photo books through Apple iPhoto. When I first started printing books through iPhoto, the only page size that was of interest to me was the landscape 11 X 8.5 inch page. Most of the page layouts that I have created have been of that size. However, when I am taking a Jessica Sprague class, most of the class examples are 12 X 12 inch. So for the class I usually make my pages at the 12 X 12 size. I have created several iPhoto books and will take some of my layouts and convert them into 11 X 8.5 inch landscape templates. I will post them here on my blog for you to download, if you wish, and use for your layouts. As usual, they will be freebies for you to enjoy.
So, I have created a name for these template layouts. They will be in a numerical series and called : EKDesign_Template_001Landscape.
The first in this series is as follows:
This is the basic template and is a fully layered psd file and was created using Photoshop CS4. However, it can be used in Photoshop Elements as well. As with most templates you can modify the final layout appearance by turning some layers off and turning some layers on. For example, one photo area is turned off and a text area is turned on.
And, here is an example of a different area used for text and an underlay was used under the text that had a Pattern Fill and a Solid Color Fill.
And, here is an example of a linear gradient being used for the background,
And here is an example of a finished layout using this template as the starting point. I added in a couple of decorative items to the layout and changed the color of the photo mats.
I hope that you will enjoy using this template.
If you wish to download the template Click Here.
This will take you to 4shared.com. You can download the file from there. This file is in a ZIP file and you will need to unzip the file to get to the PSD template file. If you haven't used 4shared.com before, when their page opens, on the left-hand side of the page there will be a blue rectangle with a white arrow pointing downward with white text saying "Download Now." Click on that blue box. This will take you to a new window that will have a box that says "Your download link will appear after wait." There will be a circle with the wait period counting down. After the wait, where the words "Your download link will appear after wait" were, you will see the words "Download file now." Click on those words and your download will begin. At least this is how it works on my iMac using the Firefox browser. Also, 4shared.com only allows one person to be downloading the file at a time. So, if you have trouble getting the file to download, you may want to try at a later time as someone may already be downloading it when you tried to do so.
That's all for now.
Enjoy life and your scrapbooking!
Welcome to EarlK Design!
The EarlK Design blog consists mainly of entries that show how to do things using Adobe Photoshop that I hope you will find helpful and give your creative mind more tools to work with.
I use Adobe Photoshop CS6, and sometimes Adobe Illustrator CS5, Lightroom 5, and Corel Painter X. However, I believe that much of what I show can be done using Photoshop Elements.
