Welcome to EarlK Design!

The EarlK Design blog consists mainly of entries that show how to do things using Adobe Photoshop that I hope you will find helpful and give your creative mind more tools to work with.

I use Adobe Photoshop CS6, and sometimes Adobe Illustrator CS5, Lightroom 5, and Corel Painter X. However, I believe that much of what I show can be done using Photoshop Elements.

Freebie Watercolor Pages by Earl

I recently made some watercolor pages that can be used either as textures or backgrounds. I used Strathmore Watercolor, cold press, Series 300, 140 lb. paper. I used watercolor sticks for the color. I like using the watercolor papers for backgrounds for artsy layouts. And, they are also excellent for textures to texture an image. I frequently layer two or more of the watercolors and change the layer blending modes to get new interesting results.

This is what 6 of the watercolors look like.

Each of the papers is a 12 x 12-inch, 300 ppi, jpg file. Instead of just having them on my computer for my use, I thought that maybe some of you would like to use them, too. You can download them, for free, by clicking HERE.  This will take you to Box.com and you can download the file from them. It is a zip file. You will have to unzip the file to get the papers. There is a TOU in the file too. Read it and you will see that it is very generous.

I hope you enjoy the papers.
