For this month's Art Journaling Challenge, Nancy gave us this guideline:
For this month's challenge, I'd like for you to journal about the SIGNS OF SPRING!
There have been very few signs of Spring in my neighborhood. Not even is the forsythia blooming. In fact, for this morning, 20 April 2013, we set a new record low temperature for this day in the Omaha, Nebraska, area. The temperature was 23 degrees F. The previous record was 24 degrees. So, I can't blame the plants for not wanting to poke their heads out.
For some signs of Spring, I looked at some of my photographs that I took at a special show, called the Secret Garden, at the Lauritzen Gardens, Omaha, Nebraska, in March 2010. I selected the following photo to use for the challenge.
And this is my Digital Art Journal layout that I made for the challenge.
For the layout, I used some of my brush strokes and masks that I had made. Here is the set of masks and brush strokes that I made.
If you would like to have this set, you can download them by clicking HERE. On the mask at the lower left, the hazy area is actually dots.
In my layout, I also used two of Nancy's flowers that she provided for the Challenge. They are the two tall light flowers on the left side of the layout under the title.
That's all for now.
Live life fully.
Welcome to EarlK Design!
The EarlK Design blog consists mainly of entries that show how to do things using Adobe Photoshop that I hope you will find helpful and give your creative mind more tools to work with.
I use Adobe Photoshop CS6, and sometimes Adobe Illustrator CS5, Lightroom 5, and Corel Painter X. However, I believe that much of what I show can be done using Photoshop Elements.
