Welcome to EarlK Design!

The EarlK Design blog consists mainly of entries that show how to do things using Adobe Photoshop that I hope you will find helpful and give your creative mind more tools to work with.

I use Adobe Photoshop CS6, and sometimes Adobe Illustrator CS5, Lightroom 5, and Corel Painter X. However, I believe that much of what I show can be done using Photoshop Elements.

Collage Obsession-20 October 2013-Scarecrow

For this week's challenge, Kaylene gave us the following:

Scarecrow

This week I have chosen "Scarecrows" as our theme. The reason this came to mind was that the Rose Festival started yesterday in a nearby town and the regional schools compete in the scarecrow competition, I can hardly wait to see what they create this year. Of course scarecrows can be scary or friendly your choice. Create in any medium that suits your style.

Recently, I had watched a video by Mark S. Johnson called Photoshop Workbench 401:Magical Photo Composite. It was interesting to watch him create an interesting scene from existing items. So, I thought I could try my hand at creating my scarecrow scene from existing items. I used these items to create my scene. I obtained them from the Internet.

Here is my created scene. I also added in a couple of textures from Kim Klassen, kk_abstract and kk_2701. I thought that the combination of plaid and stripe should scare most things away.

That's all for now.

Live life fully and enjoy.

Earl
