For this eDition of Texture Tuesday, I was roaming the Internet looking for something interesting to do and show you. I found this technique for making painterly renditions of your image.
I started with this image of chrysanthemums that I took at the Lauritzen Gardens, Omaha, Nebraska, at the Fall Chrysanthemum Show, November 2010.

This technique requires the use of the Art History Brush Tool. I am not sure this tool is in PS Elements. I used Photoshop CS6 on a Mac. I used Kim's texture kk_simplethings in my editing.
There are so many ways of using this brush that instead of my showing you, I refer you to Julieanne Kost at Adobe Secrets of the Art History Brush. I hope that you go visit Julieanne and see her great video on using this tool. I think you will have a lot of fun making painterly renditions of your photos. Julieanne also has many tutorials for Photoshop and Lightroom.
